G&G M14 Veteran questions

Hi

Just a couple of questions about this rifle.

What FPS does it actually shoot at?
Does the real wood stock need any specialist attention i.e. waxing, polishing etc?
Is the heatshield the same as other G&G models? I've heard mixed reviews of it (mainly saying that it's nasty plastic).
If the heatshield is like this, can it be replaced with other brand's versions?

Other than that, I think I'm pretty much set on it
